Rip Curl recently partnered with a UK- based film company and rented the famous Sunway Lagoon in Malaysia to shoot their new Mirage campaign in "Bullet-Time" technology... whatever that means. Basically Rip Curl's A-Team (Fanning, Wright & Wilko) got in the wave pool with some jet skis and 52 high-def video cameras, yes 52 cameras... Which produces a pretty cool 3D effect. Check out the video of the ad below and the behind mirage video, which I think is even better.
"This shoot captures the idea that you can experience a certain space in three dimensions from more than one view at a time," explains Tim MacMillan of Timeslice Films. " This project was revolutionary for us, because we'd necer worked with surf before and was revolutionary for Rip Curl, because it was their first experience with Timeslice technology. The results achieved are quite remarkable."
